Research programmes
Prof. dr. R.T. Krediet - Dialysis and renal functionThe programme is focussed on peritoneal dialysis and some aspects of renal function. It is also involved in the analysis done in the cohort of the Netherlands Cooperative Study on the Adequacy of Dialysis (NECOSAD).
Progress was made both in clinical/pathophysiological PD research (PhD thesis A. Parikova: Biocompatibility and transport studies in peritoneal dialysis; 11-01-2006) and also in the experimental branch. This latter focussed mainly on the results of a new peritoneal dialysis solution (GLAD) developed by us. The value of cystatin C as a marker of glomerular filtration rate, was explored further. In the NECOSAD cohor analyses were done on calcium /phosporus, CRP, troponin T and natriuretic peptides.
