Medical Literature: Embase/Medline via Ovid

Go to application form.

Get familiar with the Ovid search interface and start searching Embase and Medline using EMTREE and MeSH indexing respectively during a 2,5 hours' hands-on session. A good working knowledge of PubMed is prerequisite and can be obtained by the AMC e-learning in Dutch or the PubMed tutorial in English.

Matches perfectly as a follow up on the Searching for a Systematic Review course. Also recommended: PsycInfo via Ovid for elaborate searching literature in behavioral science and mental health.

The course runs three times a year. The course takes 2 to 2.5 hours.

As preparation you need to follow two e-learning modules and make an assignment. This will take on average 1-2 hours, depending on searching skills and knowledge of PubMed. During the course you have the opportunity to practice and fine-tune your own query/PICO.
