Information about the course Lung diseases and lung research.

Goal:

The national course on lung diseases and lung research is organized under the auspices of the Netherlands Respiratory Society and aims at bringing basic and applied lung research in the Netherlands at a higher level by training young talented researchers. PhD candidates will learn both the basics and state-of-the-art developments in the areas of:

  • (Patho)physiology
  • Treatment
  • Methodologies
  • Diagnosis
  • Career development

    Format:

    A 3-day course for PhD candidates early on in their trajectories, combined with two Young Investigator Symposium (YIS) visits. The program will consist of lectures, interactive workshops with researchers, patients and fellow participants, career development activities and a social program.

    Scheduled dates:

    Basic 3-day course in June (for 2017: June 7-9) followed by two 1-day YIS visits in November.

      Target audience:

      PhD candidates and fellows with either a basic science, translational or clinical background.

      Language:

      English.

      Study load:

      140 hours, which is comparable to 5 ECTS points.
