Rules for entering Amsterdam UMC for patients to contain the corona virus. And important information for outpatient visits.
The coronavirus outbreak led to additional measures.
Your appointment at the outpatient clinic
We may postpone or replace your appointment, examination or treatment by a telephone consultation or a video consultation (instruction manual in Dutch). In this way, we prevent our patients and employees from running unnecessary risks, and we ensure that we can guarantee outpatient care in life-threatening / critical situations.
Is your appointment postponed? We ensure that we inform you - by phone or in a letter - in time about your new appointment. In the meantime, you do not have to call the outpatient clinic yourself.
If your appointment at the hospital does go through, we will call you in advance to ask you questions about your health. These are questions related to complaints that occur with the coronavirus, like fever and coughing. This allows us to take the necessary precautions before your appointment, for your safety and that of our employees.
Are you coming to Amsterdam UMC?
At the entrance there is an employee who asks you questions about your health, for example if you have a fever or respiratory complaints. We do this to protect you, our patients and our employees. Read this before you visit the hospital.
We ask patients who report to the Emergency Department, the outpatient clinic, the out-of-hours GP center and the research departments to come unaccompanied as much as possible, and only bring a maximum of 1 companion when strictly necessary. Your companion will also be asked questions about complaints that occur with the corona virus. In the event that someone has complaints, your companion may be asked not to enter the hospital.
No more shuttle bus from the metro
The shuttle bus that transports patients between Holendrecht station and the AMC location on Meibergdreef has stopped driving due to infection risk. We hope for your understanding.
