Important information for visitors of patients in Amsterdam UMC (update March 23)

Due to the coronavirus outbreak we have tightened rules for visitors of the patients in Amsterdam UMC.

Dear visitor,

Because of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we have taken a number of measures in Amsterdam UMC to minimize the risk of infection for our patients and staff. One of those measures is about patient visits:

Only visitors without fever and without respiratory complaints (cough, cold) are welcome in admitted patients.

In addition, visits to patients are limited.

One visitor per patient per day is welcome in ICU adults and other nursing wards for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Nobody can visit patients with coronavirus or suspected coronavirus.

Only one companion per patient

For the emergency department, ambulant care, the outpatient clinic, the out-of-hours GP center and the examination departments: 1 person is allowed to accompany the patient, but only if strictly necessary.

For visits to sick children (up to 18 years old), both parents / guardians may come. Brothers and sisters are unfortunately not allowed to join.

If the sick child is infected with the coronavirus, only 1 visitor is allowed.

We hope for your cooperation and understanding for these radical measures.
