Focus of research

In curative and preventive health care, individuals are expected to make informed and shared decisions on e.g. healthy lifestyle, participation in screening, and treatment of diseases. This is particularly challenging for those who have low health literacy (insufficient skills to obtain, understand, appraise and apply health related information).
In my research programme we investigate what is needed to improve informed and shared decision making for individuals with low health literacy, and systematically develop and evaluate innovative interventions for both provision and target population.
