Focus of research

- Prediction of individual treatment response (personalized medicine) and stratification of patients into homogeneous groups (stratified medicine) using "Omics" technologies in combination with routinely available clinical variables.

- Non-invasive diagnosis of respiratory disease, for example by exhaled breath analysis.

- Interaction of microbes within the lung. Analyses of microbes by metagenomics and of the biochemical environment by metabolomics.
