Focus of research

Experimental work on vascular remodeling associated with altered blood flow, hypertension and atherosclerosis. Role of vascular tone, inflammation and transglutaminases in arterial remodeling.

Currently I focus on the role of the brain vasculature in cognitive function. In particular, I am interested in the perivascular pathway of amyloid beta removal. The characteristics, its driving force, and impact of vascular pathology on this transport pathway are currently unknown and of great potential importance in the development of dementia.
