Impact of tobacco control policies on smoking behaviour
Focus of research

I’ve been working in the field of tobacco control research since 2012. After completing a Masters in Health Sciences I started a PhD project on smoking inequalities and tobacco control policies in Europe. In June 2016 I defended my PhD thesis and I currently work as a postdoc researcher to further study the effects of tobacco control policies. I mostly focus on their effectiveness in young people, and I am interested in how we can effectively prevent smoking in lower socioeconomic groups in particular. I am involved in research in the Netherlands, the UK, and in the wider European context. With my research, I aim to contribute to a strong evidence base that will help eradicate smoking in Europe.
