APROVE is the association for AMC PhD candidates (Amc PROmovendi- VEreniging). Founded in 2006, APROVE strives to offer a professional and social network for PhD candidates at the AMC and its affiliated centers.
APROVE organizes a variety of events throughout the year. These include:
- Annual Symposium
- Opening of the Academic Year
- PhD Thesis Printers Market
- Science Quiz
- Workshops (Pimp my …)
- Expand your Network (informal networking with drinks and snacks)
Furthermore, APROVE is involved in the training for PhD candidates. A delegate from the APROVE board is a member of the AMC Graduate School board, and APROVE participates in the evaluation of courses. Every year, APROVE presents an award for the best PhD course.
APROVE recently published the PhD candidate handbook Promoveren doe je zo, which is essential for PhD candidates in the medical or biomedical sciences (available via www.bsl.nl and www.bol.com)
