Ronald Geskus (1962) received his PhD in mathematical statistics in 1997. Since 2005 he has been affiliated with the Academic Medical Center. He is associate professor at the department of Clinical Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics. Since 1995 he has been senior statistician at the public health service of Amsterdam, where he specialized in the statistical analysis of data collected in HIV/AIDS cohort studies.
He has published almost 150 peer reviewed scientific articles, applied as well as methodological. He has been teaching courses on the analysis of competing risks data in Brazil, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Austria and the Netherlands.
