PhD D. Verbaan (Evidence-based neurosurgery)

With the research projects that are being performed within the different research lines in the neurosurgical department, we aim to increase the knowledge with respect to evidence-based neurosurgery. The most important research lines are the lines for subarachnoid hemorrhage, deep brain stimulation, and chronic subdural hematoma. Large, mainly multicenter, randomised controlled trials, as well as observational studies based on prospectively collected data are being performed. Next to this, small, innovative pilot studies are done to evaluate possible new treatment opportunities at an early stage.
