Prof. MD PhD G.M.M.J. Kerkhoffs (Ankle and sports injuries)

Research focus is mainly on imaging techniques and treatment of osteochondral defects of the ankle joint. The pathofysiological proces needs to be unraffled in order  to come up with early interventions, this is studied at cell level and the translational proces goes until and with a number of clinical trials to study the optimal treatment for both primary as well as secondary osteochondral defects of the ankle.

Optimalization of diagnosis and treatment of (ankle) sports injuries, including imaging, prevention strategies and treatment techniques of muscle injuries.
