Focus of research

The molecular regulation of inflammation, in particular the role of NF-κB signaling and angiogenesis in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Projects integrate basic immunological experiments, novel techniques and sampling of multiple tissues (translational medicine). Ultimate goals include development of new treatment strategies targeting (non-canonical) NF-κB signaling for immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs).

Keywords: rheumatoid arthritis, synovial inflammation, dendritic cells, immune regulation, NF-κB signaling, gene therapy, angiogenesis, rare IMIDs (including vasculitis).
