Masters

Infection and Immunity

Immunology is the science that investigates how complex multicellular organisms (mostly mammals) defend themselves against infectious diseases. Various immunologically oriented AMC departments contribute to the mastertrack Infection and Immunity of the FNWI Biomedical Sciences. The track contains two courses: Advanced Immunology (AMC/Sanquin) and Advanced Medical Microbiology (AMC).

Biomedical Physics

AMC is cooperating with the Biomedical Sciences department of the FNWI. Medical Biology is the cornerstone of modern health care, covering areas as diverse as biomolecules, signal transduction, infectious or hereditary diseases, antibiotic resistance or behaviour. It is a multidisciplinairy field in which knowledge and training in biology, chemistry, physics and informatics is integrated, strongly based in a fundamental scientific background.

Neurobiology.

There are three tracks within the Biomedical Sciences department of the FNWI that concentrate on the field of neurobiology and the neurosciences. The programmes are supported by the AMC as well as by the Swammerdam Institute of Life Sciences (SILS-CNS) and other neurobiological institutes like the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience (NIN).
